Climb Leicester
Climb Leicester brings indoor climbing and bouldering to all levels at Leicester Leys Leisure Centre. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced climber, you’ll find routes and walls that suit you, from gentle challenges that introduce you to the sport, to more technical climbs that really test your skills. Friendly instructors are on hand for taster sessions, courses and casual climbs, and with regularly updated routes, there’s always something new to try. It’s the perfect place to learn, improve and enjoy the thrill of climbing.

Climb Leicester offers a complete range of roped climbing and bouldering, suitable for all abilities. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced climber, you'll find routes and challenges that suit your level. The centre is divided into three main climbing areas, each with its own unique features.

Lead and Top Rope Climbing
The Tower is our tallest climbing zone and is primarily used for lead climbing. However, top ropes are permanently available on the first five panels, allowing for flexibility in how you climb.
- 15 climbing lines ranging from 11 - 13 metres in height
- Overhanging panels feature routes up to 15 metres long
- Equipped with dual lower-off points for lead climbers
- A mix of set routes and feature climbs using flakes, pockets, and cracks
Grades: F3+ to F8a
Routes available: Approximately 50, regularly reset
Bouldering Wall
Our bouldering area offers short, challenging climbs without the use of ropes or harnesses, perfect for developing strength, movement, and problem-solving.
- Approximately 25 regularly reset problems, plus 15 feature-based climbs
- Varied styles including slabs, overhangs, flakes, pockets, and laybacks
- Padded flooring throughout for safety
Grades: V0 to V8
Top Rope Climbing and Technical Development
The Bloc is a fully top-roped area, ideal for beginners, group sessions, and those looking to refine their technique.
- 12 top-rope climbing lines
- Wall heights range from 4 - 5 metres
- Features include slabs, vertical faces, a chimney, and bridging sections
- Route styles vary from technical set climbs to feature-based problems
Grades: F2+ to F6a
Routes available: Approximately 30
Training Area
Located within The Bloc, our training area supports strength and conditioning for climbers of all levels.

This area is ideal for building climbing-specific strength and progressing toward more advanced routes.

Climbing Sessions & Courses
Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to sharpen your skills, we’ve got a session for you. All instructor-led sessions and courses must be booked in advance, either in person at the climbing wall reception or over the phone. Payment is required at the time of booking, and equipment hire is included with all courses and instructed sessions.
